Eric D. Johnson
Senior Vice PresidentEric is a Senior Vice President with Clarius Partners, responsible for coordinating key aspects of the company’s development projects including conceptual master planning, entitlement and design, construction and final delivery. Eric is a licensed architect in the State of Illinois and a LEED® Accredited Professional. Eric’s background and diverse skill set allow him to provide insight on project specifications, advancements in building technology, and the latest strategies for sustainable design.
Prior to Clarius Partners, Eric was a Project Architect with Ware Malcomb, responsible for all aspects of project design, documentation and delivery. Heavily involved in both build-to-suit and speculative industrial projects, Eric not only managed the building design, but also oversaw the integration of clients’ operational / manufacturing equipment, racking, conveyors, and other industrial technologies into the design. During his tenure at Ware Malcomb, Eric managed warehouse projects totaling several million square feet, managed multiple tenant improvement and renovation projects, and was involved in major office developments.
Prior to Ware Malcomb, Eric was a Project Coordinator at Pickett & Associates where he was responsible for construction document production, and major aspects of design for a wide variety of projects including industrial, office, public facilities and mixed-use residential. Before Pickett & Associates, Eric was an associate at Moorhead-Gruber in Champaign, Illinois, where he was involved in several renovation projects on the University of Illinois campus. While a graduate student at the University of Illinois, Eric was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Construction Engineering Research Lab, assisting with the creation of documents which supported the U.S. Army’s initiative to understand the impacts and implementation of sustainable design within complex existing military base infrastructure.
Eric holds Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
